Tréchelle is a proud citizen of the Chan Kagha Otina Dakhóta Oyáte (Birdtail Sioux Dakota Nation) and is a law student, athlete, and advocate. She is the founder and race director of the Reconciliation Run.

Donald and Mildred were Survivors of the Birtle Residential School and are the great-grandparents of founder Tréchelle Bunn. The Reconciliation Run was established in their honour.

Elder Terry is a Birtle Residential School Survivor. Each year, prior to the Reconciliation Run, he courageously shares his story and his vision for the future.
